How to change a brief pattern to a thong or G-string pattern
Have the perfect fitting brief but want a thong or G-string ?
You don’t need to start from scratch, this course will guide you through the alterations so you get a thong or G-string that fits in a quick time (it’s not as easy as just chopping away the back).
I show you the measurements and more importantly why, so you know exactly what you are looking for. When I designed for different high streets, you couldn’t use the same pattern across the board as for example a Topshop size 10 fitted differently to a Next size 10, so you would have to use the different base patterns of the brief to get the fit you needed. No-one wants to go through three rounds of fits, and if you are a home sewer you want the best fit as soon as possible.
There are two (or three on the G-string) simple changes to your brief pattern you need to make to transform your brief pattern to a thong or G-string pattern. This course shows you exactly the changes to make, with detailed pattern pictures showing before and after alterations to the pattern.
I show you on video and images in the course how this is done with the actual measurements on how much you should be altering your pattern by, so, you know exactly what to do and get the perfect fit. You will also be supplied with the measurements of what I always start with for the back and side string of the G-string.
I have been designing lingerie and pattern making for over twenty years, and from high streets stores to designer brands, this is the method I always use when designing a thong/G-string to get it through fits quicker. You do not need to start from square one each time.
I also show you examples of a G-string in different types of fabrics so you can see the mesh G-string is a different shape than the tulle G-string.
