Updated the cost sheet for lingerie design

I love an excel spread sheet, good job really half my time I’m working on them, but I know not everyone has a love for them, that’s why I created a series of design sheets to help you with your designing, the cost sheet being one of them.

And I’ve just updated the one in the store. Previously it fitted all on an A4 sheet and could be printed out now from speaking to clients and gaining feedback I’ve updated it, so whilst the printable one is still available there is now one which is spread out and has a few more things.

One being that it takes into account and gives you a reference of how much you are spending in relation to one and another of manufacturing costs, fabrics and components.

Also, it’s not always as simple as getting a price per one item, yes you get that price, but what if minimums are say 1000 per piece there is section which takes into account the cost per piece with the cost it takes for the whole order, and it works out how many items you need to sell to break even. This also works if you are making the lingerie yourself and are having to commit to minimums on fabrics.

Just knowing not only your costs but also when you will break even is invaluable.

What ever your goals, whether that is keeping a track of costs, building a brand and needing to know the costs, working out whether it’s viable to launch more than one range - you need to know your costs.

And of course in some cases it’s not as simple as just knowing how much it costs and adding a percentage, it could also be looking at the market where your lingerie sits. But you need to know your costs to work out whether you are making a profit no matter how much you sell your lingerie for.
