SS24 lingerie trends
One of my favourite parts of a previous job was studying the trends each season, and then designing a range around them. And even though I no longer design to the trends I still like to have a look and see what it going on.
So what has the Spring Summer 2024 fashion trends have in store for us next year?
In a flutter of pastel colours from Pistachio, lavender, powder blue and pink to a pop of colour of canary yellow mixed with Navy next year is the year of softness with an underlying power, vulnerabilty meets strength.
These soft yet energising colours are set to be mixed with silvers and shimmers.
One of Pantones colour of 2024 is Chambray blue, a delicate and softness of a brightened denim, mixed with Pastel Lilac and desert flower which is a warm and energising pink.
With lingerie brands still continuing its focus on sustainability fabrics , they will nod towards the softness of bamboo, organic fabrics which will also echo the fluidity and softness of the seasons colours by using tulles and transparent laces.
Soft bras still continue to rise and 2024 will be no different, bras offering support without the discomfort of underwire bras will still continue to increase.
The seasons vulnerability and strength will be showcased in tulle, the transparency to declare who you are is shown quite literally in the fabrics. Underwear as outerwear began in the 1990s and will rear its head again next year (did it ever fully go away?)

As well as the tulle, fabrics will juxtapose against each other, the tulle mixing with the tweed and the stronger outerwear fabrics such as sportswear.
Shapes wise, corsetry is back in favour but a slight shift from the traditional shapes, appearances will lean towards comfort with the designs becoming more minimal. Overall, the mix of fabrics and colours will bring a strong yet soft look to the season.
