Van Journal - ReleVANt lingerie patterns

There are certain bra and brief patterns I come back to, ones that I teach students on. Ones that are not only easy to make but that fit awesomely as well. The ones that are your go-to’s, the ones that I start as a block pattern and design off that knowing that they will fit well from the start.

No matter how good a lingerie piece looks, if I notice it’s there I won’t wear it. I don’t want wedgies, I don’t want to pull down a bra or adjust the straps, I want to put my lingerie on and head through out the day.

I still sew lingerie for people but on a lot smaller scale than I did when Vanjo was a full functioning brand in the stores, so over this past year I’ve been putting together what I call the ReleVANt range, a new collection of four briefs, two soft bras and a crop top. Lingerie that you can make at home even if you haven’t made any before.

They can be all made from the same fabric and as it’s stretch that be mesh, cotton/elastane or stretch lace. So you can download and get making for a valentine collection, or general day-to-day wear.

First up is the ‘Iggy’ brief pattern, a low slung little number, designed to cut across the hips and easy to sew.

If you are like me when it comes to patterns, no two pattern maker is the same, and when it comes to making outerwear patterns, some sing to me ‘make me make me’ and others well they are just not my style, and by this time I’ve invested my time to research and my money, they are either too complicated or the pictures are not clear. With this is mind I am going to make this pattern free so you can see if my style of patterns are right for you.

I introduce to you ‘The Iggy’
