How I can help you with lingerie designing

It’s coming that time, Summer days are getting shorter, and the cooler air has arrived (though did it ever disappear this year?) Yup it’s back to school, and if you’re like me there’s that notion still instilled in me that I want to learn something, or delve deeper into a subject.

And with the kids being back to school soon, this means I open up my time to take on more clients, so what can I do for you?

Lingerie Talks

Want to know something specific about lingerie design? Grading? Business? I have helped people who want me to look at their designs and advise them of their next steps, have given people manufacturing details, fabrics details, spoke about designing for different markets such as maternity, teen, mastectomy etc. I have even advised freelancers who want to take the same path as me but want to pick my brain on what works and what doesn’t.

Mentoring

Following on from the talk, this involves people who need more than one chat and want to ask me questions as they occur, this package is usually over three months, and in that time, I check in with you, see how you are doing, answer any questions you have. I have covered measuring garments via video, fitting of a garment and next steps they should take along their brand journey.

Technical Drawings

You have an idea? I can bring it to life via a technical drawing, you will need one of these if you are wanting to approach a factory to manufacturer your lingerie.

Tech Packs

You technical drawing will go in this, this is your blue print of how your garment is getting made, if you are getting a factory to make one, ensure that it’s yours. For example, if you move factory can you take the tech pack or are they claiming it belongs to them? For transparency when I design a tech pack, I give you the PDF version and the Excel version - why? Because tech packs can change, sometimes you don’t have all the answers when you start out, fabrics may change, size ranges may change.

Spec Sheets

Depending on who is doing your patterns you may or may not need a spec sheet (as in the person designing your patterns may provide on with the service, so check this out first so you don’t pay twice), but if you do need a spec sheet I can provide that for you.

Patterns

I can produce PDF patterns for you which means you can print them off and use them, I don’t have the software to produce patterns to be sent to a cutting table at a factory. If you are wanting to make your own lingerie the PDF patterns will be fine, if you are wanting a factory to make your lingerie you will need someone with pattern making software.
