Round up of 2020

Well as we see the year of madness that has been 2020 come to an end, I thought I’d do a round up of the year. Every week on Instagram stories and at the bottom of the homepage I do the ‘five breast sellers’ of the week, so you can see what every else has been up to buying.

This week and for this blog I’m doing the five breast sellers of the year, and they are:

  1. How to become a lingerie designer

  2. The Anatomy of the bra

  3. How to sketch a bra and brief

  4. How to tech, spec and grade a bra and brief

  5. How to grade a bra and brief

Which as I’m always packing those books up comes as no real surprise.

So what else has gone on, well 36 blog posts have been written. A new website went live and three new products were launched, all automated spec sheets, for a brief, a bra and soft bra. Which is a fancy way of saying that you measure your sample, and type in the measurements and the spec will work out every other measurement across every size you.

Another thing that went live on the website this year was opening up consultation work, where you can book in a 30 minute or one hour slot to talk things lingerie, which is the best. I get to answer your questions and shoot you in the right direction of what to do next. I’ve chatted to a lingerie designer about wires, another one about grading, and then people about starting up their brand, in kids-wear, maternity and lots of lingerie start up brands who simply want guidance of what next step to take and to see if their idea is a viable one.

I also got to see one the clients worked with brand come to fruition, their instagram handle is https://www.instagram.com/amorecoro/ the lace they use is exquisite.

I’ve worked with thirteen clients this year which was truly amazing as its always lovely to be able to work with people and their ideas, and either guide them through or get them to manufacturing stage. The designs I was able to help on included swimwear, maternity wear, eco-lingerie and a whole lot of lovely well designed lingerie.

The books re-open in January and from February I’ll be taking on more clients, so if you need help with your designs, whether that’s pattern work, technical drawings, tech packs etc just drop me a line.

Here’s to a better 2021 for us all, and to you designing beautiful lingerie.
