All about Forster Rohner Lace

All embroideries are made the same - nope. Let me tell you about one of my favourite lace companies. Forster Rohan.

A Swiss company Founded in 1904 and is known for supplying luxury/couture brands, the company specialises embroidery, lace and technical textiles. It’s based in St Gallen a region famous for producing high end lace. It often works as a B2B hidden supplier so the embroidery isn’t often mentioned in designs but can be seen contributing to luxury brands. There use to be a UK agent that worked with the Swiss company in 1986 but this was dissolved in 2013, which means the fabric if you want to get it in a big bulk amount you have to source it from online or local fabric companies. CSF Online have rolls and rolls which made sourcing easy and I used the embroidery design in rouge red . Having walked around CSF Online I can tell you there is a whole range of colours waiting for you to work their magic.

Although designs are now designed digitally, the machines used to make it place the stitches with sub-miltary accuracy which is why Swiss embroidery is considered among the finest in the world. Moving away from the mass produced lace fabrics, this company operates more like a textile design studio + engineering company, which has allowed them to survive when so many lace and embroidery companies had to shut their doors. Overall I love how they have blended the tradition way they work with the digital approach, allowing new designs to shine through with the quality you want when sewing lingerie.

About the lingerie design

I used Forster Rohner embroidery (rouge red) on the cups and in the style I loved I blended the design with black. The embroidery is a one edge design which means it only has a pattern edge on one side and is 16cm wide, I was near my maximum at putting my 30E cup patterns on the lace, just something to note if you are wanting to buy this design for bigger cups.

I paired this with a Boselli satin cradle, stabiliser behind the satin and a powernet for the wings.

The straps I choose a 13mm shiny as the lace design has a slight sheen to it and I paired this with shiny silver rings and sliders
