New book: How to be a lingerie designer

It’s the third edition, and after doing the second there was no real plan to do a third. However as time went on, the information of lingerie design increased factories declined and new ones appeared; and as I learnt more it seemed appropriate to pass on all I knew.
Officially it’s the third addition however the name has been changed slightly The first two editions were named “how to become a lingerie designer” it was the first book I wrote and contained a look at everything to become a lingerie designer. Since then more detailed technical books have been written including writing about grading etc. So this book has more information about being a lingerie designer and going on to sell your products. It takes your through developing your range, choosing a brand name and a more in depth chapter about manufacturing options. Calling it “how to become a lingerie designer” again didn’t seem to do it justice.

So what’s new?

This book has approx 220 pages compared to the previous of 160 pages. The whole thing has been re-written, there is still material from the previous book, like the timeline of lingerie in the years, but I’ve added to the book by asking questions or gaining interviews from people in that specialised field. Instead of there being eighteen chapters like in the previous book, there are ten.

With each chapter going deeper into the topic it covers. There are also exercises throughout the book in each chapter, so you don’t read the book and think what next? You have begun your way to being a lingerie designer. Also with technology changing so quickly, all the websites links have been updated, and there is also more names and details of manufacturers as I know that is an area people get stuck on.

So the question is do you want to be a Lingerie designer?

The book takes your through step-by-step with advice on developing your own range, lists of manufacturers to sending out press releases about your lingerie brand. Even if you have little knowledge on lingerie design, this book will start you on your journey.

And it’s not only my voice you hear in this book, I have included interviews from professionals in their area of expertise.

This book is broken down into ten chapters with exercises that you can complete throughout the book so you have a clear understanding what you need to do for your lingerie designs and brand.
