HOW IT WORKS

Book in for 30 minutes or one hour and I will help you with your lingerie design. There are no times shown as you get to choose what time you want to work in with your other commitments. A week before we talk I will be in contact to check in to cover if you have anything exacting you want to talk about.

ABOUT ME

I have been in the lingerie design industry for over twenty years, with my first job working for a UK manufacturer designing for high streets, from there I went on to launch my own lingerie brand ‘Vanjo’ being the first independent stockist in Topshop to sell above a D cup. I handmade all the lingerie for this order, and then as ‘Vanjo’ got busier I sourced a manufacturer to make some of the lingerie. During this time I had a mentor who I would talk to once a month and bounce ideas off and it was such a a great resource where by I didn’t feel alone working it all out myself.

As well as freelancing for many companies “I’ve been sponsored by a lingerie company to go work in Melbourne, Australia.

I now specialise in helping designers start their own lingerie brand, and give advice and sell books all about the technical side of lingerie design.

What our chats are about? That depends on you; you could be a designer first starting out and want to talk about the manufacturing side of lingerie design, you may want guidance and advice of what questions to ask. You may just want someone to off load all your ideas to or advice on timelines and direction.

You could need help with grading and I can talk you through all the steps and teach you grading, or may want a contact you can build a relationship with who can do it all for you. You may need help with blogs and press and the business side of lingerie design and pricing. You may be a freelancer yourself and want help starting up. Each talk can be different, my aim is to get you further along the path you want to follow and help you miss the setbacks and hours spent researching.

30/60 minute calls depending on the package you bought - if you find you need to talk for longer or shorter than the allocated time, that’s fine, I keep detailed notes of time, dates and what we spoke about.

FAQ

What’s the difference between your one-to-one sessions and mentoring?

The one session is for people who may have questions about a specific topic and are then quite happy to go on alone. The mentoring means you get to speak to me and have follow on contact, so after our first session you take what we’ve spoke about and implement that so when the following call comes around you’re ready to move to the next step, or need to go over what we spoke about again. You also can contact me with any questions you have throughout the mentoring, that could be about your designs, patterns or simply me introducing you to contacts I have to enable you to begin your lingerie design path.

How do I know which package to choose?

It all depends on your aim, you may want to see how the mentoring goes and may have a good idea of your brand but just want someone to check in with and guide you on their way. The longer sessions, are designed for those who want to make a huge leap with their designs and don’t know where to start. Or want to be tutored on a specific topic. For example, you may be looking for a manufacture and want to know what questions to ask or how to respond to a questions they have asked them. Or you may be wanting to learn grading, so we will go through it and I’ll keep setting you new lingerie to grade to make sure you understand it , then we can go over it in the one-to-one sessions.

How long does it last?

That really depends on what you are doing, if you are wanting to get your designs made by a manufacturer then your sessions may be spaced out more than someone wanting help to sew themselves. Getting samples back from factories may take longer than you first thought and if that is the case we just work to their schedule and i’ll be here to help you get other things ready whilst you wait for a sample. You will find that you will have a flurry of activitity then be waiting for answers, that is why the session are designed for you to take them when you need.

What if I only need to talk to you for 20 mins?

To get into the answers to your questions it usually takes 30 mins to an hour, however if you just need to pop on to clarify something or run an idea by me and it only takes 20 mins, then I just knock off 20 mins to your video chat time rather than the full 30mins. I keep a detailed log on times and dates we have spoken so we can work to your time schedule.
