One-to-One Lingeri-E-Course : Designing & Making Soft bras
This is a four week course, you will book in for one hour a week with a time that’s suitable for you and learn about how to make a soft bra.
Each week (up to week three) you will be sent a pattern for you to make and I will go through with you how to attach elastic, make straps and attach the hook and eyes. I will teach you the basics of making a bra.
Each week we will build upon your knowledge, you will start with a soft bra in a dress size then move on to cup sizes. We will go through sister sizing and you will be provided with soft bra pattern sizes up to a FF cup.
Session one:- Covering fabrics, trims and sewing. Detailed look into elastics, rings and slides, hooks and eyes. An in depth explore at how different elastics work and the correct ones to use for a bra. You will be given a bralette crop pattern in sizes XS-XL . You will shown how to make straps, how to sew cups (without an overlocker), and how to attach elastic.
Session two:- Pattern two will be given, which is the same pattern as above but with wings. Sizes 30A-34DD You will be shown how to attach hook and eyes. Sister sizing is discussed as well as bra fitting.
Session three:- Pattern number three is given 30B - 36FF which has a three piece cup with a cradle Available to sew in mesh or stretch galloon lace. Tips are given for the bigger cup.
Session four:- Final session a more in depth look at fits and how to alter your pattern to create the most delicious fitting bra.
Who is this course for?
Those wishing to launch a lingerie brand and sew everything themselves. Whether you plan to design and make your bra or are a home sewer wanting the perfect fit.
FAQ
How long will this course take? It’s designed for weekly, though can be expanded to 3-8 weeks, each session can be tailored to your availability so if you want more than one session per week, we can work to that, or if you need longer than one week then we can work to that. I find after 8 weeks momentum is lost.
What if I get stuck in-between each session? You have full support throughout, I can be contacted either by email or text and answered within 24 hours. I will also check in with you through-out.
Do I need to be able to sew at this stage? A basic knowledge of sewing would be handy, if you are a complete beginner I recommend starting with the ‘ Designing briefs course’
I go through everything and I can guide you through examples, you can practise your sewing throughout the course and I can look and give you tips throughout.
Is each session set in stone? No, if you are an amazing sewer, we can cover this session briefly and go deeper into another session. As each session is a video call we can move at your pace and go as deep into each session as you like.
