Wanting commissioned Lingerie?

Vanjo lingerie made from french lace

Having finished the grade book (still being laid out), I have been concentrating on freelance work and commissions for lingerie. I love designing commissioned pieces, I try to still stick to the Vanjo ethos and use re-claimed or organic fabrics and trims.

Commissioned lingerie is a great way to have some lingerie that fits exactly for you, whether that is making one cup bigger than the other, or just finding a supportive soft bra (currently I can go up to a 34FF) in materials or colours you want.

My latest project was a surprise set from a guy for his wife, obviously no measurements could be taken so in situations like these I ask bra size from more than one bra (of the ones worn not just sat in the drawer) and images from bras worn in the past so can gauge the true size of what they wear. Then I draft a sketch with clear annotations of what it may look like and go from there.

And although Vanjo is usually about colour, this set was all black made from French lace. The whole piece was fully lined and the centre front and cradle had a gun metal denier sandwiched between the lace and mesh to highlight the shine on the lace. Details included lace coming up off the elastic.

The briefs were were a mixture of French lace and delicate dotty mesh with the lace detail at the back.
