Founded in 2012, the book 'How to become a Lingerie Designer' was published to inspire and give guidance to those who long to enter the industry, and start their own label. Written from the perspective from within the lingerie trade, the book delivers advice on creative and technical design.

Following the book, came the blog, which observes a more in depth look at lingerie labels, trends, sewing techniques and tips, and designing your own collection.


Bio

Laurie van Jonsson graduated with a BA HONS (2:1) in Fashion & Textiles in 2000. An exceptional eye for detail and thriving on all things fashion and lifestyle, lead her to gain her first job working as a lingerie/swimwear designer, creating diverse brand handwriting for a multitude of high street stores.

Haunted by the infatuation to find the perfect fitting bra, van Jonsson went on to launch her own brand 'Vanjo' which specialised in smaller backs and larger cups. This was the first independent brand to stock above an E cup in Topshop.  In 2007 van Jonsson won the Design and Innovation 'Shell Live Award' for Stylish business success. With the brand being built upon the ethos that lingerie should be designed with intent and not just to look appealing.

Through her expertise van Jonsson has also worked as an Account Manager and Product Developer. Freelancing with multi national and independent companies to produce high selling commercial garments. Her career has seen her lecture about the fashion industry, become a published author and work internationally. Laurie van Jonsson now resides in London and is studying for her Masters in International Fashion Management.
